Is facebook truely addicting or is it just an excuse.

Teenagers and adults both say facebook is addciting, that they just can't get off of it, but is it really? Teenagers always say oh I got caught up on facebook so I just couldn't get anything done. In my opinion I find that an excuse for teenagers to just space off the things they were suppose to do just because they didn't want to do them. Because in my mind if it's something really important and you need to get it done then you'll do it before you do anything else. Adults on the other hand get stuck in the little games that facebook has like farmville, petville, fishville, etc. and they use that as their excuse I think to avoid doing something that they don't want to do.
I find facebook an excuse and a distraction for all ages, but mostly teenagers. Oh i got caught up on facebook and completely forgot, oh I just couldn't get off facebook there was new drama that I had to get caught up on, or oh I just got so into the game I was playing on facebook I just couldn't stop playing. I don't think facebook is at all an addiction but a choice to use and procrastinate from doing things that they do not want to do. Facebook does have some fun games, funny likes, statuses to comment on, messages to respond to, or new pictures to look at but it's all just a choice or priority over your other things that you have to do.
All in all facebook really is not an addiction just a choice of yours to avoid other things that you have to do. At any time you can get on or off, how long you stay on there is the decision that you make and no one else makes for you. If you don't like not getting your homework done or not getting things done then just delete facebook, it will solve all of your problems.
